The Alexander McQueen eyewear collection
focuses on a distinctive sophisticated style, with feminine
lines, assertive shapes and original silhouettes.
The new acetate sunglasses come in rounded designs with strong
profiles and striking colours.
The McQueen logo is photo etched
onto the temples amidst oblique stripes in black, white/ blue,
matte/ gloss contrasts.
Couture elements are echoed in vintage style rounded and
smoothed edges, decorated with mother-of- pearl buttons set
along the temples taking reference from the Alexander McQueen
apparel collection.
Models which complete the new collection include cutting edge,
complex constructions consisting of frames with striking twisted
cord effect forked temples and hoop shapes with toric wrap
lenses.
Optical frames are lightweight acetate and metal with
eye-catching silhouettes and highlighted logo detailing.
The Alexander McQueen collection of sunglasses and optical
frames is produced and distributed by the Safilo Group.
Safilo had focused primarily on the Italian market until the
1970s.
The growing popularity of Italian-made eyewear elsewhere in the
world soon led the company to begin its own international
expansion.
The success of its venture into Belgium led Safilo to expand
throughout Europe, opening distribution subsidiaries in Denmark,
Spain, Germany, and France.
Back in Italy, Safilo added a new factory operation, in
Martingnacco-Udine, in 1980, dedicated to the production of
metal components for eyeglass frames. |
